Yamal, a right winger, came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute of Barcelona's 4-0 win over Real Valladolid on April 29, 2023. Just six minutes later, he scored a stunning goal to seal the victory. Yamal's goal made him the youngest player to score on his debut for Barcelona since Ansu Fati in 2019. It also marked the first time a player born in 2008 had scored in La Liga.
